Explore the Ecosystem
Head out and visit the coast or another nearby ecosystem! Come back and log your visit in the Field Journal.
In this Logbook activity, you’ll head outside to explore a local coastal area or nearby natural ecosystem—whether it’s a beach, salt marsh, rocky shoreline, estuary, or even a freshwater pond or river. The goal is to engage directly with your environment, observe the natural world, and make connections to broader ocean and climate systems.
Take notes, snap photos, sketch what you see, or collect data like temperature, tide levels, or visible species (while being mindful not to disturb habitats). When you return, you’ll log your visit on the platform using our interactive Field Journal. Reflect on your observations, share your findings with others, and start thinking like an ocean steward.
